Great Views: House Plans with Great Views Part 2

One of my favorite parts of fall is the colors that the leaves turn this time of year. We usually go to a pumpkin patch or farm this time of year and we end up spending at least a few hours in the car traveling. This is when we really get to enjoy the beauty of the fall foliage. Arkansas may not be known for it’s landscape, but in the area we live, it is absolutely gorgeous.

On one side of us is the Delta with its rolling fields of cotton and wheat. The cotton looks like fields of snow and the wheat is turning a beautiful shade of gold in the last part of the summer heat. On the other side of us is are the Ozark Mountains. They are a small chain of mountains and they are just a little bit wild with trees as far as you can see from the top of one of the many ridges. And here we sit, in the middle, in Crowley’s ridge. This is just a little ridge of hills that runs through Jonesboro and gives us a perfect landscape for hiking and biking.

This unique rustic house plan gives you just under 2,000 square feet of living space with 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, and 1 half bath. The best part of this plan is not just the spacious size, but the large walkout basement on the rear of the home. This plan is the perfect home for anyone looking to enjoy their surroundings! This home also features a large master suite with an enormous walk-in closet.

As you approach the home, the first thing that you notice is the mix of exterior materials. This home is a beautiful rustic home and the mix of the materials show it to perfection. Rough cut stone mingles with vertical siding and lets the metal roofing material shine.

As you enter the home from the entry porch, the first thing you notice are the stone columns supporting it. These give you a rustic feel instantly. Entering the home, you find yourself in an open concept floor plan that combines the Great Room, Dining Room and Kitchen.

The Great Room features vaulted ceilings that make the room feel larger. Off the Great Room you will find the Laundry Room and the Half Bath. There are multiple windows including in the laundry room, the hallway between the laundry room and the half bath and the half bath itself. This gives the space a light, airy feel.

The Great Room also features more windows facing the front of the home through the porch. From the Great Room you can access the Deck on the rear of the home through the sliding glass doors on either side of the stonework fireplace. Did I forget to mention the stonework fireplace that is centrally located on the rear wall of the Great Room and makes a great focal point for the entire space?

The Dining Room runs in between the Great Room and Kitchen and gives you plenty of space to entertain for large parties. The best part of an open concept plan is that the space doesn’t necessarily have to be used in the same way. It can be broken up in many different ways for whatever you need the space to be.

The Kitchen features a large island that separates the space between the Dining Room and the Kitchen. This large island features seating for four. The Kitchen also has a space set aside for informal dining areas with a large window facing the rear of the home with a built in bench just below it.

From the Kitchen, you can move through the hallway which holds the stairway and move into the Master Suite. This large space keeps the same vaulted ceiling that you see through out the rest of the home. It also features large windows that look out from the rear of your home.

The Master Suite includes the master bedroom with its large windows and pocket doors, a large walk in closet that runs the same length as the master bedroom and a large master bath. The master bath features both a corner glass shower and a freestanding tub.

There are many windows in the master bath which take a space that is normally dark and closed off and opens it up to the light.

The basement features Bedrooms 2 and 3. Each has pocket doors and large closet. Each bedroom also has a sliding door that opens to the Patio on the rear of the home under the deck on the first floor. They also share a hall bathroom.

This rustic cottage style home gives you more than what meets the eye. Though it may seem small at first this house plan gives you over 4,500 square feet of living space with 2 bedrooms, 4 full baths and 1 half bath. This home also offers you a 3 bay garage for your modern mechanical marvels. With 2 stories and loads of storage room, this home is sure to please even the most rigorous building demands.

As you approach the home, the first thing that you notice is the stonework on the front of the home that gives the home that characteristic rustic style look. As you enter the home from the covered front porch, you notice that the porch has a lovely vaulted ceiling. This sets the stage for the rest of the home.

The Foyer is part of an open concept living area that combines it as well as the Great Room, Dining and Kitchen areas. This large area gives you plenty of space to make the home uniquely yours.

From the Foyer, you can enter the Dining Room that lies to the left. This large space features a box ceiling as well as a large picture window facing the front of the home. From the Dining Room, you can enter the Great Room. This space features those high vaulted ceilings that brings in that rustic charm.

The rear wall of the Great Room is taken up by a large wall of windows with sliding glass doors that lead out onto the covered porch. This gives you a great view of the property to the rear of your home. This would be perfect for taking in the views of the seasons.

The covered porch continues the theme of the home and features more of those vaulted ceilings. Stone work columns complete the rustic look and help to tie the home together.

The Great Room features a large stonework fireplace that dominates the wall in front of the stairs. This is a great conversation piece and would be amazing on cold nights. Can you imagine a fire blazing in the fireplace and watching the snow fall outside while you are warm and toasty with a hot beverage of your choice? Ahhh perfection.

Moving further into the home, you find the Kitchen area with an attached Breakfast Room. The Kitchen features a large island in the middle with seating for 4. This is a perfect space to gather while the meal is being prepared.

The Breakfast Room features a large bank of windows that looks out onto the rear of the home. This room also gives you access to the covered porch and a second Screened Grilling Porch. From the Kitchen you can make your way to the Garage.

Through here, you will find the Kid’s Nook and the Laundry Room. This gives you a perfect space for a mudroom type area and a straight shot to the Kitchen and the built in pantry.

The other side of the main floor features the Master Suite. The Master Bedroom gives you a private exit to the Covered Porch and large windows facing the windows on the rear of the home. The Master Suite also gives you two walk in closets as well as a Master Bath featuring a large shower area.

The basement of the home gives you space for a Game Room which is the same size as the Great Room on the first floor. This area is large and and features a large stonework fireplace in front of the stairs, large windows facing the rear of the home and French doors that open up to the Covered Patio. If this seems familiar, that’s because it mirrors the first floor of the home.

The right side of the basement gives you space for an Exercise Room with loads of room for storage. It also features a pool bath area with its own dedicated shower. This floor of the home will also give you space for an optional office that could double as a tornado safe zone.

The rest of the floor is taken by the secondary Master Suite. The Master Bedroom here also has large windows that face the rear of the home and private exits to the covered patio and covered porch. The Master Bath gives you a large shower as well as double sinks. The walk in closet in the secondary master is larger than my first apartment and has an island for drawers in the middle of the room.

This plan also gives you space for an optional Apartment on the second floor of the home. This apartment features a bathroom with both a whirlpool tub and a glass shower. It also gives you a walk in closet.

This house plan is deceptively large. It gives you nearly 4,000 square feet of living space with 4 bedrooms, 3 full baths and 1 half bath. This plan also features a 2-car garage. This house plan gives you plenty of curb appeal with a wonderful rustic style exterior. Not only do you get a safe room with this home, but you also have a large master suite and a study with a huge walk-in closet on the first floor. Be sure to check out the photos of this great plan on our website. Thank you to our happy homeowners for the lovely pictures!

This plan has a gorgeous rustic look to it that just makes you take notice. While the home may appear small from the outside, it sure packs a punch on the inside. You might even say that its “bigger on the inside.” (Sorry, I love Doctor Who.)

As you enter the home from the covered porch, the first thing that you notice is that the porch has some lovely rustic accents. Not only does it have great stonework columns, but it also has a gorgeous vaulted ceiling. This gives your guests the feeling of entering somewhere grand.

You step into the home and find yourself in the foyer. This room features the large double doors leading to the front of the home as well as the stairs that take you to the basement of the plan. The foyer is part of an open floor plan that includes the foyer, great room, kitchen and dining room.

All of these rooms blend seamlessly together giving the illusion of a grand space. The great room features a large corner stonework fireplace. Because what is a rustic style home without one? The great room also leads out to the covered porch on the rear of the home.

The covered porch continues the theme of the home with stonework columns and a vaulted ceiling. Stepping back into the home, you find yourself in the kitchen. The kitchen features not one, but two islands in the middle of the space. This gives you plenty of room for seating and prep and cuts down on how far you have to walk around it.

The kitchen also features a large “L” shaped countertop with room to spare. The dining room rounds out this portion of the open floor plan and gives you plenty of natural light with windows on two of the walls. This is another key characteristic of the rustic design.

Moving further into the home, you find yourself in a long hallway. This hallway runs all the way to the garage and gives you a great way to bring groceries into the home. This hallway features a lovely little nook with hanging storage and a bench that can be used as a mudroom.

From this hallway you can access the hall half bath. The hallway also runs to the study with its large walk-in closet as well as to the large laundry room which features a large sink for soaking garments as well as an exit to a small porch on the side of the home that would be perfect for air drying smaller garments.

The other side of the plan features the master suite. The first thing that you notice about the master suite is that if gives you a very high ceiling with a double casement window facing the front of the home. The master bath gives you his and her sinks as well as a large corner shower and a whirlpool tub. There is also a large walk-in closet to handle all of your shopping trips.

Moving downstairs to the basement, you will find an informal living area with a secondary kitchen that is perfect for making snacks. You will also find bedrooms 1, 2 and 3. Bedroom 1 is nestled on the other side of the living area and right next to the large safe room. This bedroom features a large walk-in closet and has access to the hall bathroom.

Bedrooms 2 and 3 share a jack and jill style bathroom. There is also a large storage area here in the basement.
